I've spent so little time playing with my cameras and Photoshop lately, but have been getting out a bit with the D50IR.  Hopefully I'll round up more stuff to upload soon.

So I haven't really been doing much photography or photoshopping for the past several months at least.  I got my nice new IR converted D50 back from LifePixel in April, played with it a slight bit, enjoyed it, and it's sat on the shelf pretty much since then.  It's not that I lost  interest in photography, just that as a hobby it should be enjoyable.  When it feels like a chore to go out and shoot pictures, the quality of the art and the overall process is just poor and not enjoyable.  A couple days ago I started browsing deviantART again and came across some IR and HDR images that inspired me to get my gear off the shelf and start playing wi

Nikon D50IR

So the nice weather is coming back, and with it the infrared season.  Had a lot of fun last year using a Hoya R72 filter on my D300, but the long exposures are killer and decent pictures are all but impossible  with any sort of breeze.  Finally decided for fork out the money for a converted D50 off eBay.  Well I got the camera and it turns out it was full spectrum and not the advertised 720IR.  So off to LifePixel it went, and four days after I mailed it to them I had it back in my hands, and they did an amazing job.
